Jessica Lavallee — Country Singer-Songwriter
Raised in Lourdes-de-Blanc-Sablon, Quebec, on the beautiful Lower North Shore (LNS), Jessica Lavallee’s music is deeply rooted in the culture, resilience, traditions, and storytelling spirit of the place she has always called home. Born in Newfoundland and raised in a region where the Lower North Shore and Newfoundland and Labrador have long shared close family ties, traditions, and a rich musical heritage, Jessica carries those influences with her wherever her music takes her.
Jessica’s love of music began at home, inspired by her father, a gifted singer, songwriter, and musician who introduced her to the power of storytelling through song. Those early influences sparked a lifelong passion for honest lyrics, heartfelt melodies, and the rich heritage of country music.
A devoted fan of traditional country, Jessica draws inspiration from legendary artists including Hank Williams Sr., Merle Haggard, Patty Loveless, Dolly Parton, Highway 101, and Marty Stuart, while also admiring modern storytellers such as Chris Stapleton. Alongside her love of country music, she is deeply influenced by the rich traditions of Celtic music and the soul and emotion of the blues. Together, those influences have helped shape a sound that is authentic, heartfelt, and rooted in timeless storytelling.
As an independent singer-songwriter, Jessica has spent years developing her craft, writing songs inspired by real-life experiences of love, perseverance, heartbreak, faith, and hope. Every song reflects her commitment to creating music that is genuine, relatable, and emotionally honest.
Jessica has recorded in Nashville with acclaimed producer Kent Wells, longtime producer and musical collaborator of Dolly Parton. Working alongside some of Music City’s finest musicians, she has brought her original songs to life while remaining true to the traditional country sound and heartfelt storytelling that define her music. Those experiences have strengthened her commitment to creating authentic country music with honesty, warmth, and emotional depth.
Today, Jessica continues to write, record, and perform original country music, sharing songs that celebrate family, community, resilience, and the enduring power of storytelling. Whether performing on stage or writing her next song, her greatest hope is that listeners hear something honest, familiar, and deeply human in every lyric.
For Jessica, every song is an opportunity to honour the people and places that shaped her, tell an honest story, and preserve the traditions of country music for generations to come. She believes the best songs don’t just entertain—they make people feel seen, understood, and at home
